This book is a documentation of the Kentucky Rifles produced by Smoky Mountain area gunsmiths that were shown at the exhibition held at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend, Tennessee from May 1 through October 25, 2018. The book contains over 175 full-color, high-resolution photographs of the 23 rifles, 4 pistols, and hunting accessories in an 8.5 x 11-inch format. A two-page layout is provided for each rifle in the exhibit. See the book review on page 21 of the Fall 2018 Journal. This is a limited 2nd edition reprint.

For almost four decades, Happy Valley was known as Rhea’s Valley, named after the community’s first permanent settler, Robert Rhea, who arrived sometime around 1823.
            The 180 page, large format, paperback book contains more than 300 black and white photographs of people, places, and structures. Betty Boon Best paints a picture of life during the early days in Happy Valley with her collection of photographs.
